About Our School

Mojave Springs School embraces a unique approach to education that feeds academic, spiritual & creative growth.

Our Mission

Mojave Springs School is dedicated to fostering creative and independent thinkers by providing knowledge, nourishing emotional intelligence, and cultivating artistic expression to act with intention in the world.

Our Vision

Our vision is to grow into a whole Prek-12 Waldorf school, offering high-quality private education that serves the whole child without high tuition costs. We are committed to nurturing academic, spiritual, and artistic growth in the children we serve and making the Waldorf-Steiner approach a cornerstone of education in Southern Nevada.

Our Image of the Child

We see every child as a capable, thoughtful, loving individual with an inspiring curiosity for the world. We view children as teachers themselves who we aspire to learn from and grow alongside.

Our Story

Mojave Springs School was founded in 2017 by Jacquelyn Trumbull and Jodi Reiter with the support of other experienced educators. These women shared a profound desire to bring a holistic approach to the educational landscape in the Las Vegas area. Holding their first informational sessions in Jodi’s home, they were received with vehement interest from the greater Las Vegas community to open Mojave Springs School, and with the time, talent, and resources offered by local families and educators, the dream became a brilliant reality.

Mojave Springs School receives support from the greater Waldorf/Steiner community as an associate member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and registered initiative of The Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). As a pioneer school, Mojave Springs began with only one class; today, still in our pioneering endeavor, we have continued to build our elementary program. We seek to maintain a healthy rate of expansion for the benefit of our students, faculty, and long-term vision, doing all that is in our power from year to year.

The founders’ original circle of faculty and staff brought with them long-standing experience in public, private, charter, and magnet programs in Clark County; they responded to a fervent need in the city for a school that served the children. Their shared experience vitalized them in creating a program that focused on each child’s unique capabilities, nourished the whole human being, and gave them tools to develop head, heart, and hands. With this educational approach,

Mojave Springs School has always strived to enrich Las Vegas families and contribute to the school and greater community.

In 2019, Mojave Springs School was able to expand and purchase a beautiful property consisting of 1.1 acres of land. The existing building was renovated to be in alignment with the school’s philosophical and sustainability standards. In continuation of processes set in place by the 2019 administration and faculty, the school has plans to build as close to a net-zero energy facility as possible on the undeveloped north most portion of land in future developments.

Our Location

Our school is centrally located in the beautiful Spring Valley neighborhood of Las Vegas. We are lovingly housed in two newly renovated homes with a large, shady yard full of trees, garden beds overflowing with organic food, and open space to play. Come and witness the enchanting magic of our classrooms in action.

Our Accreditation

We are currently in the process of becoming a fully-accredited Waldorf school through the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North American and the Association of Waldorf Schools North America. The accreditation process is an intensive multiple-year process involving intensive study and reflection.
